iPhone Back Glass Replacement in Anand

A cracked back glass is the repair we are asked for most often, and it is also the one most commonly done badly. Done properly the phone looks factory-new. Done badly it comes back with a bent frame, a damaged camera ring, or wireless charging that no longer works.

Why the laser matters

On every iPhone from the 8 onwards, the back glass is bonded to the frame with adhesive that is much stronger than the glass itself. There are two ways to get it off.

The common way is heat and mechanical force — a heat gun, and then picking the glass out in fragments with pliers and blades. It works, but it puts a lot of stress on an aluminium frame that is only a millimetre thick in places, and on the wireless charging coil and camera bezel sitting directly underneath. Bent frames and damaged coils come from this method.

We use a laser machine. It traces the bond line and breaks down the adhesive without heating and levering the whole rear of the phone. The glass lifts off cleanly, the frame is never stressed, and the components underneath are not disturbed. On models where the camera surround is part of the rear glass, this is the difference between a clean job and a visible one.

What the repair involves

  • Phone opened, battery disconnected first — non-negotiable on any job involving heat
  • Laser removal of the broken glass along the bond line
  • Old adhesive cleaned off the frame completely, which is what decides whether the new panel sits flush
  • New panel fitted and bonded
  • Wireless charging and the rear cameras tested before it goes back to you

How long it takes

Most back glass jobs are finished the same day, and many while you wait. It is slower than a screen or a battery because the adhesive has to be cleaned properly and the new bond needs to set — rushing that is how panels lift at the corner a month later.

What it costs

iPhone 16 back glass starts at ₹4,500. Other models vary, mostly with the size of the panel and how the camera surround is built into it. Pro and Pro Max models cost more than the standard sizes.

We quote before we open the phone, so the price you are told is the price you pay. Send a photo of the damage on WhatsApp with your model and you will have a figure before you travel.

Worth checking before you book

If the phone was dropped hard enough to break the back glass, it is worth having the inside looked at too — the same impact can crack solder joints on the board, and that fault may not show up for weeks. We check while the phone is open, at no extra cost, and tell you if we see anything.

Also: if the rear cameras have gone blurry or the phone no longer charges wirelessly since the break, say so when you ask for a quote. Both are common after a hard rear impact and both are fixable, but they change what the job involves.
