Phone Battery Replacement in Anand

A battery replacement is one of the quicker jobs in the shop and usually done while you wait. It is also the repair that most often makes an older phone feel worth keeping.

Signs you need one

  • The phone shuts down with charge still showing — dying at 30% or 20% is the clearest sign of all
  • Charge collapses in steps rather than draining smoothly
  • It gets hot doing very little
  • The phone feels slow — iPhones throttle performance to compensate for a worn cell, so a "slow" phone is often just a tired battery
  • It will not last a morning on a full charge

Our guide on how to tell when a battery is genuinely finished covers how to check the real health figure on iPhone and Android, and why the Play Store "battery health" apps are mostly guesswork.

Swelling is urgent

If the screen is lifting away from the frame, the back is bulging, or the phone rocks when you put it flat on a table, stop charging it and bring it in today. A swelling cell is producing gas internally, it will keep expanding, and it can crack the display from behind. A crushed or punctured lithium cell is a genuine fire risk. This is not a repair to put off until the weekend.

What the job involves

The phone is opened, the old cell disconnected and removed — on most modern phones that means dealing with pull-tabs or adhesive underneath, which is where cells get damaged if it is rushed. The new cell goes in, and the phone is tested charging and under load before it goes back to you.

When a new battery is not the answer

Worth knowing before you pay: if the phone will not charge properly and gets hot and dies early, the battery may not be the whole problem. Faults in the charging circuit on the motherboard produce very similar symptoms, and a new cell alone will not fix them — the new battery just wears out the same way.

We check the charging side before replacing a cell, so you are not paying twice for the same complaint.
